West coast Canadian songwriter Dan Mangan is the first act announced for the 2020 Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival. Mangan will headline a free concert on the hillside stage on Thursday, June 25th.
The “Fool for Waiting” and “Robots” songwriter has played Ottawa-Gatineau countless times, including performances at Salle Odyssée and Algonquin Commons Theatre in recent years. The two time Juno Award winner even played Southam Hall with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. However, his outdoor summer shows at the Ottawa Folk Festival (R.I.P.) and the Dragon Boat Festival about five years ago would be two of the artist’s most memorable Ottawa shows, which is reason to be excited by Dragon Boat Fest bringing Mangan back.
Today’s announcement is the first of several before the full concert schedule is made available by Dragon Boat Festival organizers.
The Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival concert series takes place at Mooney’s Bay Park from June 25–28. Admission is free.
