CRANIUM Festival: Ottawa hip hop music festival put up a call for artists—deadline 08.26.20

By Greggory Clark on August 15, 2020

Ottawa will see the second annual edition of CRANIUM take place October 14 to 17, despite COVID-19. Organizers from the hip hop music collective, a.k.a. The Capital Region Association for Nurturing the Industry of Urban Music, recently put out this call for artists on Instagram.

The @craniumfestival IG post invites all Ottawa-Gatineau based hip hop and r&b artists to submit proposals for CRANIUM’s 2020 music festival.

Locations will be announced in the coming weeks. Given the public health requirements and need for safe social distancing, we’re expecting to see live streams and potentially pop-up sets for small audiences around Ottawa-Hull neighbourhoods.

If you’re just catching up, Apt613 contributor Joshua Soucie previewed CRANIUM before its first-ever event in November 2019. That festival saw City Fidelia, DSTNY, Aspects, Lia Kloud, Apollo Rae, JustJamaal ThePoet and many more artists perform in popular venues like Kinki, Queen St. Fare, and Babylon Nightclub. The 2019 festival also hosted workshops and panel discussions.

Send your proposal here before August 26 at 6pm. Follow @craniumfestival and visit craniumfestival.com for updates and more information.
