As COVID-19 continues to impact our city, it has become increasingly important to recognize the everyday heroes who have shown incredible support for our community during a time of great uncertainty.
In June, Apartment613 and United Way East Ontario teamed up to present the Community Builder Awards COVID Heroes Edition, which celebrated five outstanding locals making a difference during the first months of the coronavirus pandemic.
But as we approach the end of a summer unlike any other and look ahead to an autumn with new challenges, there’s no shortage of community members continuing to support those who need it most. With so many incredible community builders to choose from, we decided to celebrate eight more remarkable individuals for their unwavering support to their community in these challenging times.
These Community Builders were recognized for their exceptional contributions to Ottawa. They have demonstrated quiet heroism in ways both big and small—helping so many during these challenging times. Thanks to them, people across our region can feel connected, nourished, comfortable, encouraged, safe, involved, and heard. We thank all who took the time to nominate these everyday heroes.
Over the coming week, Apartment613 will share stories about these eight new Community Builder Award recipients, so stay tuned on our blog and social media for posts about each winner.
