By United Way East Ontario on February 10, 2020

Nominations are now open for the 2020 Community Builder of the Year Awards.

For 20 years, United Way East Ontario has recognized local change-makers from across our community – and now is the time for you to have your say about who should be honoured in May.

The awards celebrate the people, organizations, partnerships, agencies and neighbourhood groups that work tirelessly, passionately and collectively to address the greatest local challenges our community faces.

Last year’s recipients included the West Carleton Disaster Relief (WCDR) and Trend-Arlington Community Association (TACA), who showed compassion and support in the aftermath of the September 2018 tornadoes in Ottawa. Similarly, Erin Benjamin, CEO of the Canadian Live Music Association, was also honoured with the Ambassador Award for her ongoing efforts to support people in the community including those affected by the tornadoes.

If you know someone who is making a difference, United Way is now accepting nominations. The awards recognize a wide variety of people and organizations for their outstanding contributions in Ottawa and across the region.

The award categories include:

  • Community Builder of the Year
  • Ambassador Award
  • Poverty to Possibility
  • All That Kids Can Be
  • Healthy People, Strong Communities
  • GenNext Award

Submit your nomination today and join us at the 20th annual Community Builder of the Year Awards at the Westin Ottawa on May 28, 2020.
