Locally-based musicians and entrepreneurs are invited to apply to the Ottawa Music Development Fund (OMDF) for projects that address gaps in Ottawa’s music industry. The deadline for this round is coming up on July 8, 2021.
The OMDF is funded by the City of Ottawa and administered by the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC), a not-for-profit established to engage in advocacy and research on behalf of the local music industry. Although the OMDF is a public fund ($25,000 from the City of Ottawa), an OMIC membership is required in order to apply.
The fund is categorized into four streams:
- COVID-19 Relief Microgrants ($250)
- Creation Stream ($1,000)
- Concert Artist Fees ($500–2,000)
- Collaborative Projects ($3,000)
A third and final round of the OMDF will open this fall with dates TBD.
