Marysol Foucault’s cuisine is one of the reasons why committed Ottawans cross the river to Gatineau every weekend for brunch. The food she creates is spectacular and the ambiance she has created at both Chez Edgar and Odile is chic and homey. Sadly for us, but good for Marysol, she announced on Monday that she will be closing Odile at the end of the month to focus solely on Chez Edgar, and regain a bit of her life back.

We have a wee bit of news we would like to share with you…
I, Marysol Foucault, chef and owner of Odile, am giving my ‘’two weeks notice’’.
Why you ask?
So that I may find a balance in my life. So that I may have reasonable work weeks, to reduce my now average of 100.5 hours split between Edgar and Odile. To spend some time with my boyfriend, my mother and my friends that I have all left behind. To make some time to be more creative and find happiness again. This is a choice for me, for my health.
For the first two weeks of August, the menu at Odile will be as always. For the following and last two weeks of August, we will go all out and do fun, festive, themed food nights.
I will go back to Edgar, full-time, in September, and until then, my promise to you is to make this the best ‘last two weeks’ a restaurant could ever have. It is not an end, it is a celebration for our love of food, and we’ll cook with all our heart until the last minute.
All of this would not have been possible without your love and support, I am thanking you from the bottom of my heart and tummy.
