Jean McLernon is the Executive Assistant / Event Planner for the Ottawa International Film Festival.
On Saturday, June 14th join Beau’s Beer and the Ottawa International film Festival for The Big Lebowlski: A far out bowling and feature beer night. The event is a fundraiser for the Ottawa International Film Festival which runs later this fall in October, and is an opportunity for Beau’s to lead Ottawa into Ontario Craft Brew Week which kicks off on the 13th and runs until June 20th.
The Ottawa International Film Festival is a lover of all things film, and has a special spot for cult classics like The Big Lebowski. The Big Lebowlski is then a perfect opportunity to mimic a small-scale Lebowski-Fest to raise funds for OIFF, and is a great way to get the city interpretive dancing for a good cause. Urban Achievers, Dude’s and Strangers alike can flock to West Park Lanes for a far out costume contest, Big Lebowski themed trivia and bowling, of course.
Beau’s is bringing the beer, and Ottawa’s own Devin Atherton will be spinning some cool tunes to bring you back to the 90’s… just don’t expect to hear the Eagles, man. Put on your best Bunny costume (toes inclusive) and bring your nihilists to try your hand at Big Lebowski Trivia, where the prizes are straight from the movie. Used Ottawa and High Times Ottawa are both providing the prizes for the night, and we’ll just say a few of them really tie the room together.
Tickets for The Big Lebowlski can be purchased online for $8 in advance, or $10 at the door. Doors are at 7pm. West Park Lanes is located at 1205 Wellington St. West. If you’d like to bowl, book your lane by calling 613-728-0933 (extra fees apply). Want more information on supporting or volunteering for The Ottawa International Film Festival? Visit their site here.
