On a quest to find the best in town, Nachos613 has been reviewing nachos across the Ottawa area since November 2015. The blog has reviewed 40 restaurants so far and have shared some of their favorites so far with Apt613. You can read all of their reviews at nachos613.com and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
1. Bowman’s Pub and Grill – Carling
Bowman’s nachos are all about freshness, quality and an abundance of flavor. Everything is made in house with fresh ingredients and you can definitely notice the love put into this plate. The combinations of sirloin beef, chicken and beans deliver an uppercut of deliciousness with each bite.
2. Agave Grill – Westboro
Agave Grill was our first review that set itself apart from its competition with quality ingredients and flavorful tastes. While it may not be the biggest portion, Agave Grill satisfies your nacho cravings with an incredibly savory dish.
3. Pancho Villa
Pancho Villa on Elgin takes a simpler approach to their nachos, choosing to keep it simple but still knock it out of the park. They don’t have many ingredients, though the few they use are exquisite. The chips were probably the best we have had so far; the red sauce added a nice kick and the chicken and steak combo elevated this plate near the top.
4. Rosie’s Southern Kitchen and Raw Bar
The nachos at Rosie’s on Bank are easily the spiciest of our reviews. They are loaded with jalapenos that kick it up a notch. The rest of their ingredients complement the spice very well to deliver an all-around very tasty dish.
While the whole plate is very pleasant, Mexicali Rosa’s chipotle chicken nachos use bacon and a honey chipotle sauce to separate themselves from the pretenders and place themselves among the contenders group. Delicious nachos plus beautiful Dow’s Lake make for a great nacho experience.
