It’s already be a busy past few weeks for Vankleek Hill’s Beau’s Brewery. In May they announced their intention to sell the brewery to the employees. A couple weeks back, they released early bird tickets for the popular Beau’s Oktoberfest party.
Not pausing for a breath, they have a Father’s Day Weekend event (June 16-17th: don’t worry, you still have time to make dad a card!) at the brewery. $10 get you a round-trip bus seat to the brewery from Ottawa. In addition to unconditional love from dads, Beau’s promises games, patio food by Chef Bruce, prizes, music by DJ Law and other surprises!
Last week, it was announced that Beau’s flagship beer, Lug Tread, would be the official beer for Ottawa 2017 celebrations and the brewery would be the official beer partner. Through 2017, the brewery will team up with other breweries across Canada, including 613’s Big Rig and Kichesippi, to brew a special beer each month. This is of course to celebrate Canada’s 150th (fun fact, there’s an unpronounceable word for that: sesquicentennial)
But wait! There’s more: The brewery is bringing back the iconic ceramic bottle of Lug Tread! Soon to be released at the LCBO.
And their 10th anniversary is July 1st. They’re opening up the B-day party to fans July 2, 11AM-6PM with an open-house (…open-brewery?) style gathering. Three new beers will be launched: Old Skål (collaboration with Anders Kissmeyer), Two Tonnes of Fun (collab with Gigantic Brewing), and Batch 5000. The brewery event is free and aimed at wholesome family fun: there will be cake.
On July 2nd, buses are available from Ottawa and Montreal and riders get a tractor patch that they can sew onto their brewvests.
To review: lots going on at Beau’s – check it out!
