The complete collection of Together Apart Necklaces is now available.
Head over to Apartment613’s Shopify store where you can browse the collection of pendants.
Handcrafted by Apt613’s artist-in-residence, Kathleen Atkinson-Hindle, each pendant is a single edition and all of the pieces were made from one sheet of solid sterling silver. Together, the 23 pendants form the whole of Ottawa. With input from Apt613 readers, Kathleen decided to cut the sheet into 23 shapes based on the city’s current ward boundaries.
Kathleen’s wish is for each pendant to become a special piece that belongs to somebody living in that part of town or someone with a special connection to the neighbourhood, bringing all of these strangers together by holding a piece of the whole artwork “together apart.”
