Apt613 Live for February 10, 2015

By Michaella Francom on February 12, 2015

Hey kids!

In case you haven’t checked your calendars this weekend will be ushered in by one of my favourite special days: Friday 13th!  I don’t normally sidestep ladders, avoid cracks in the sidewalk or throw salt over my shoulder to scare away the devil.  But there’s something delightful about indulging in these little rituals on a day punctuated by superstitious possibilities…

This week on the show we’ve got Patrick Gauthier: Curator of the upcoming Undercurrents independent-theatre festival.  We talk a bit about what the 2015 program has to offer as well as what Gauthier and the festival hope to do by presenting “theatre below the mainstream”.

We also had the pleasure to sit down with Dr. Malcolm Butler: Dean of the Faculty of Science at Carleton University and the organizer of the popular Science Café series which aims to promote awareness and discussion about the intersection between science and society.

Plus, as always, a smattering of music: The Golden Dogs; Shred Kelly and Yaa Hemaa keep things groovy.

Thanks for listening! You can catch us on CHUO 89.1 FM on Tuesdays at 6pm.
