Postponed: 9 concerts streaming free in Winter Jazz Fest

By Greggory Clark on January 6, 2021

Update: Due to the provincial state of emergency declared on January 12, the 10th Ottawa Winter Jazzfest is postponed until further notice.

Ranee Lee, Jazzlab Orchestra, Jim Bryson, Ron Sexsmith and more feature in the 2021 Ottawa Winter Jazz Fest.

Organizers of the Ottawa Winter Jazz Fest recently announced their 2021 lineup. Live streaming *free* from Arts Court Theatre, the one-weekend festival will include at least nine shows between February 4–6.

A press release says details for in-person performances to a small audience and with “strict COVID-19 safety protocols in place” could be announced before opening night—if permitted by the City of Ottawa and public health officials.

A complete schedule has yet to be released, but the lineup announcement names Ranee Lee, The Kirk MacDonald Generations Quartet, Jazzlab Orchestra, Jim Bryson, Ron Sexsmith, and Rebecca Foon among the confirmed acts.

2021 marks the 10th annual Winter Jazz Festival in Ottawa and, when June comes around, will be the organization’s 40th annual summer festival.
