Music, pop-ups, craft beer & cocktails at Bar Robo. It’s all in the name of 6/13, our area code’s champagne bday, pseudo-holiday—it should be!—and the special date our co-founders chose to observe Apt613 anniversaries, ever since the first party at Raw Sugar (R.I.P.) launched this blog in 2009.
So, what we’re calling a 9th Birthday Party for Apt613 is more or less our fun excuse to get social on 6/13. Citywide, we hope to find out about neighbourhood get-togethers, barbecues, support local initiatives, living room concerts, and front porch beers. Tell us about your plans in the comments section below? Or this coming Wednesday, tag #APT613 on Instagram.
For our part, Apt613 is proposing contributors, readers, friends and family come out for a block party in Chinatown. We’ve invited The Merry Derry ice cream cart, 10 of Cups (a new pizza project by the chefs who bring you Meatless Mondays at Citizen), plus Bar Robo will be serving craft beer in the open air.
You know who came through with a clutch motion for a weekday road closure in Chinatown? City Council did. Thank you, councillors!
After sundown, we get into Bar Robo’s regularly scheduled programming: Robo Harb DJs until late. There’s no cover at any point in the day.
Admission is free, however please RSVP so we know how many to expect. Bar Robo has a capacity for 40 people indoors and up to 200 people outdoors. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has gender neutral washrooms.
