TONIGHT! The things we make and do – entrepreneurship and creativity in the city [Apartment613 Talks Round 2]

By Ryan Saxby Hill on November 21, 2012

The vibrancy of city life is highly contingent on the services available and the things we do to fill our time. When we think of the places and spaces we frequent, or when we think of the restaurants we enjoy, we are confronted with the immense role that entrepreneurs have in our quality of living.

In our second Apartment613 Talks event we’re going to look at entrepreneurship from three different angles – as employment, as creativity and as critical to our standard of living.

You will hear first-hand from locals who have built businesses we love and find out what we can do to encourage Ottawa’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Our panellists:

  • Ian Capstick, president and founder of MediaStyle
  • Mandi Loo, owner of Auntie Lo’s Treats
  • Tobias Lütke, CEO of Shopify

We’re hosting the panel at Pressed Cafe tonight from 8-10pm. Hope to see you there!

This event is free and open to the public thanks to support from Awesome Ottawa.
