The list of signature events is impressive. Having perused the line-up, here is an early roundup of Ottawa 2017’s standout events. Expect more programming to be announced in the coming months.
The streets of Ottawa were bustling this weekend as onlookers enjoyed Kumo, the giant spider, and Long Ma, the horse-dragon. After several confrontations throughout the weekend, the two faced off in an epic battle Sunday night at the Canadian War Museum. La Machine, an Ottawa 2017 event, will be one for the books for sure.
This weekend isn’t only about the giant monsters of La Machine, although we are pretty excited to check them out. With lots happening in the city and on the outskirts (we’re looking at you, MayoFest!), grab your friends and have a blast.
La Machine kicks off on Thursday July 27 at 8pm with the awakening of Kumo near the National Gallery of Canada. Long Ma will awaken on Friday July 28 at 10am at Ottawa City Hall. The creatures, accompanied by a live orchestra, will then take over the streets of our beautiful city throughout the weekend, inviting us to follow them on their journey as they search for one another and fulfill their destiny.
