Recovery Day is an annual event hosted by the Community Addictions Peer Support Association. It is a public event designed to include the entire community, not just those currently in recovery.
This year’s event will feature performances and speeches by Daphne Willis, Séan McCann and Cody Coyote, among many other inspiring stories.
More than 200 graffiti artists, dancers, hip hop artists and DJs of all levels will gather underneath the Dunbar Bridge for the 14th annual House of PainT Festival (August 24–27, 2017).
As founder Elaina Martin put’s it, Westfest is “the people’s festival.” With Westfest in it’s 14th year, Apt613 talks to Martin about what Westfest is all about, its efforts towards reconciliation, and making Westfest Ottawa’s most accessible and diverse festival.
If you are somebody who has ever struggled with addiction, know someone who has struggled, are celebrating recovery or simply want to learn more about how to support others – come out to Recovery Day.
