If you love hearing poetry, writing poetry, or have even thought about performing poetry, well then have we found the events for you!

On this week’s show, we chatted with Apt613 contributor, spoken word fan, and soon-to-be radio host Shannon Ing about two poetry readings happening this week.

The first event is Tell ‘Em Again Girl, hosted by Tell ‘Em Girl, about which Shannon says “you’ll experience spoken word that will make you laugh and cry, exciting music, and local female artists showcasing their artwork.” The 613TV team will be on-site filming an upcoming Ottawa Minute piece about the poetry showcase as well.

The second event is the Urban Legends Finals, where slam poets will be competing for a spot on the Urban Legends team, to compete at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.

Whether you’re a poetry newbie or a slam poetry veteran, these two great events are very accessible and offer something for everyone. Check the listings below.
