Tune into a CKCU broadcast from Pod613 at CityFolk—09.15.18

By Greggory Clark on September 14, 2018

10am–1pm on Saturday, Sept. 15

On Saturday morning, turn your dial to 93.1 FM—or listen live at ckcufm.com—for the inaugural radio broadcast from Pod613. Between 10am and 1pm you’ll hear CKCU FM’s Canadian Spaces and Back 40 programs broadcast live on location in Lansdowne Park.

We’ve been doing live remote broadcasts almost as long as we’ve been on the air waves! #VintageCKCU #FlashbackFriday

If you’re going to The Glebe, you’re welcome to see the show in person. Pod613 is parked in front of the Horticulture Building, just outside of the CityFolk gates (meaning there is no cost for admission). There will be a CKCU tent on the grass, and large solar panels which make the location hard to miss. If the weather cooperates, we’ll use the pod as a radio control room—with doors open for observers—with our hosts and guests just outside.

Former Ottawa XPress editor Allan Wigney will be co-hosting Canadian Spaces with Ottawa Folk Festival co-founder Chris White from 10am to noon. Ron Moores will then host The Back 40 from noon to 1pm.

A number of musical and non-musical guests will be dropping by throughout the show, with interviews interspersed by live performances.
