For the uninitiated, 2017 is as good a year as ever to get into House of PainT. This year’s HoP lineup is so solid, Apt613 music contributors say you can’t possibly see a bad show at HoP 2017.
Take Canadian turntablist A-Trak, first DJ to win the grand slam of DJ competition titles (the DMC, ITF and Vestax trifeca) and the first DJ to win five World Championships. At age 15, he was both the youngest winner and first Canadian to ever win the award.
A-Trak headlines HoP 2017 on a bill filled with quality artists through and through. DJ Bear Witness (A Tribe Called Red), JUNO Award winner Skratch Bastid, Montreal’s Dubmatique, Ottawa luminaries The Souljazz Orchestra, emerging artists Slack Bridges, Rita Carter, as well as BBoy Dyzee and Caracas-via-Ottawa street artist Juan Carlos Noria are sonly a few of the names that make this HoP lineup a smash.
With the festival only days away, Apt613 music writers are amping up to see these artists and look forward to discovering more. So to offer you an in on the 2017 HoP lineup, we’ve curated a 16-track playlist to charge your day:
