By Apartment613 on April 28, 2017

What happens when you bring together Ottawa’s leading innovators from across the sectors of health, design and technology? A health hackathon!

Ottawa’s first-ever health hackathon is taking place this weekend at Shopify with an ambitious goal: solve challenges faced by children and their families in order to improve their healthcare. Over the course of the weekend, 150 participants will collaborate to create innovative prototypes for the benefit of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre. Winning teams will be awarded prizing of worth $120,000 in support to help move their prototypes into reality.

Hacking Health Ottawa is part of a global organization called Hacking Health which was founded in Montreal. Their goal is to increase innovation in healthcare with a collaborative bottom-up approach, and by placing physicians and healthcare professionals at the center of the innovation process.

Observer tickets are available to attend the #HIP613 Hackathon. Check their Facebook event for more details.
