Network and help change lives in Ottawa with Schmoozefest 2017

By Hannah Manning on October 23, 2017

Networking can be weird. Trying to perfect your elevator pitch before time runs out can be stressful.

Enter Schmoozefest 2017.

United Way Ottawa is hosting a networking event geared towards Ottawa’s next generation of philanthropists, change makers and passionate networkers, without the awkwardness. Featuring food and drinks, a relaxed atmosphere at the Horticulture Centre and a wide selection of People 2 Know, it’s a networking experience that takes the work out of networking.

People 2 Know, or P2K, are community leaders in social enterprise, business, government, media and more. This year’s P2K include Olympian Sekou Kaba; Regine Paquette and Katie Frappier, Co-owners of Victoire Boutique;  Maxine Patenaude, CreativeMornings Ottawa Host; Jaime Koebel, Artist, Educator and founder of Indigenous Walks; and more!

At this year’s event, United Way Ottawa’s GenNext Cabinet will enter its second year of GenNext+ Giving Circles. Giving Circles bring together the next generation of philanthropists to support specific issues facing Ottawa’s most vulnerable. At the event, attendees will be asked to join Giving Circles to support Ottawa’s LGBTQ community, youth mental health, or social enterprise.

So what’s included with your ticket?

  • Complimentary food from Local Public Eatery, The Albion Rooms, Golden Palace, Wonton Crunch, Mini-Donut Express, Poppa Bean and Aroma Espresso Bar
  • A complimentary drink from either Beau’s All Natural Brewery or Top Shelf Distillery
  • Opportunities to network with featured community leaders in social enterprise, business, government, media, and more.
  • A chance to win great prizes
  • Tunes by DJ Male Nurse

This is an evening to create lasting community change. Don’t miss out.
