NAC Presents adds 17 artists mid-way through its biggest season

By Greggory Clark on January 18, 2018

We knew as early as March of last year that the 2017–18 season would easily set a record as the largest-ever NAC Presents lineup. Heather Gibson, Director of NAC Presents, tipped her hat in an interview with Apt613 when she mentioned the current season “will be twice the size of [last year’s].”

Shortly after, Gibson’s team came out the gate by announcing 50 shows for fall 2017 and then another 30 shows for this winter.

So it comes as something of a surprise that 17 more artists have been added to the series which already counts Gabrielle Shonk, Rebecca Noelle, Rose Cousins, and Randy Bachman among other well-known names and emerging artists booked to perform in the weeks and months ahead.

New shows include local songwriter Trails, who at 18 is turning heads in her hometown and abroad (she opened for Andy Shauf in London, UK last November), as well as Grammy Award winner Chilly Gonzales, Juno Award nominee Donovan Woods, beloved children’s performers Lois & Bram, and the Native North America Gathering, a historic concert showcasing Duke Redbird, Willie Thrasher, Linda Saddleback, Alanis Obomsawin and more Indigenous folk heroes of the 60s and 70s.
