The timeless music of Santana will have crowds dancing on Sunday, March 18, at the Canadian Tire Centre. Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana and his band will be back in town for the first time since he played Ottawa Bluesfest in 2010.
A career spanning into 6 decades, Santana are a staple of Latin, soul-infused rock, making themselves known all the way back in 1969 at Woodstock. A wizard on guitar, Carlos can leave the audience in a trance with psychedelic undertones, and then spring right back into Chicano rock that leaves you no choice but to move.
A history rich in memorable moments and accomplishments, Santana has taken home nine Grammys, been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1998, and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, just to name a few.
In 2013, Carlos Santana revived his band’s original lineup, and together the group created the album Santana IV, released in April of 2016. This was the first time the lineup had worked with each other in 45 years.
At age 70, Carlos still brings the flair that fans have come to know and love, and the show on Sunday is sure to be a memorable one. Last-minute tickets can be found here.
Santana is performing at the Canadian Tire Centre on March 18. Tickets cost $57–249 online.
