Ottawa’s Bonnie Doon will celebrate their first full-length album at Bablyon (317 Bank St) this Saturday night. Dooner Nooner is being co-released by Record Centre Records and Bruised Tongue, on LPs and cassettes.
“You will like this album about as much as we enjoy sharing a poutine and chocolate shake 4 ways,” wrote members of the post-punk band in an email to apt613.
It’s been about three years since Bruised Tongue released Bonnie Doon EP, a 6-track record which won the band tons of support and chart appearances. Bonnie Doon’s lo-fi surf rock tunes charted for weeks here at CHUO 89.1FM and in Edmonton on CJSR 88.5FM. Maybe something to do with the Ottawa band sharing their name with an Edmonton neighbourhood…
While you wait impatiently to hear Dooner Nooner, watch this studio performance Bonnie Doon taped for BRBR. “B-Hole” is a new song which appears on Dooner Nooner.
Bonnie Doon play at Babylon (317 Bank St) on Saturday, May 20. Doors open at 8pm. Get your hands on a new LP or cassette at the merch table. Advance tickets are available at The Record Centre and Vertigo Records for $10. See Facebook for more details.
