Wakefield La Pêche Earth Day Environmental Fair and Green Market

April 22

Ever been inside a “tiny” house?
Examples of these miniature homes will be on display at the Green Market and Environmental Fair celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 22, at the Wakefield La Pêche Community Centre on Valley Drive, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This year, Wakefield’s Earth Day is bigger and better, blending family fun, handmade craft items, local produce and healthy snacks. Activities and attractions include electric vehicles and a mobile solar power unit; a speakers’ corner; workshops on restoration, repair and composting; art, poetry and song; a green builders’ circle; tree-climbing for kids; and nature activities.
Participants from outside the area are encouraged to carpool and to park-and-ride on the free Transcollines bus shuttle. Those who live nearby can walk, bike, canoe, or skateboard to the event.
On Thursday, April 20, at a coordinated event in Chelsea, MP Will Amos and Environment Commissioner Julie Gelfand will lead a discussion about sustainability for our Hills communities. For more information visit http://acrechelsea.qc.ca/http://jourdelaterrecollines.ca/ .
