The Royal Canadian Geographic Society Summer Exhibits

This summer, The Royal Canadian Geographical Society is hosting three exhibits at it’s new headquarters at 50 Sussex Drive: Lessons from the Arctic, honours Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen, the first person to reach the South Pole; Explore, an exhibition of contemporary art by Alberta artist Chris Cran, and the temporary art installation Compass: Peace in All Directions, made up of 3,500 ceramic sculptures representing the founding people of Ottawa at the time of Confederation. The exhibits are open to the public, free of charge, from 9 a.m- 5 p.m throughout the week, except for Tuesday and Wednesday. Please note there is no on-site parking.

Cet été, la Société géographique royale du Canada organise trois expositions à son nouveau siège au 50, promenade Sussex : Leçons de l’Arctique, en l’honneur de l’explorateur norvégien Roald Amundsen, la première personne à atteindre le pôle Sud, Découvertes, une exposition d’art contemporain de l’artiste albertain Chris Cran, et l’installation artistique temporaire La Boussole : toutes les voies mènent à la paix, composée de 3 500 sculptures en céramique représentant les peuples fondateurs d’Ottawa lors de la Confédération. Les expositions sont gratuites et ouvertes au public, de 9 h à 17 h tous les jours sauf le mardi et le mercredi. Veuillez noter qu’il n’y a pas de stationnement sur le site.
