Trustees matter. Their actions and non-actions impact students, our communities and our futures for years to come.
Leading up to Municipal Election Day, Monday, October 22nd, we invite supporters of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) to educate themselves using Uniting for Children and Youth (UCY)’s new service. UCY has compiled candidates’ biographical information, details for all-candidate debates, and candidates’ responses to five questions asked on these themes: Democratic Values, Systemic Innovation, Youth Empowerment (asked by two OCDSB youth who organized Nepean High School’s walkout), Equity & Inclusion, and Well-Being.
UCY is making it easier than ever to cast an informed ballot for OCDSB trustee in Ottawa. Visit www.ucyottawa.com to get the information you need when voting for school board trustee on October 22nd.
This service is a first, a trial. People are appreciating it and we hope to extend it to all four Ottawa school boards in 2022.
Supporters of the OCDSB are encouraged to check our website between October 19th and October 22nd to read the latest on trustee candidates. This way, citizens can head to the polls more informed than ever about their trustee candidates. Let’s crash the server!
Prove that Ottawa cares who it elects to advocate for public education; represent our children, youth, and families; and manage a $1 billion budget to educate the future.
