Nature Canada, in collaboration with the Ottawa Children’s Festival, are hosting a free public event at LeBreton Flats Park on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 for World Migratory Bird Day. The Ottawa Migratory Bird Day event at LeBreton Flats Park is taking place between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
The World Migratory Bird Day is an annual celebration intended to welcome back migratory birds, and 2018 is especially important as the ‘Year of the Bird’. The event will include naturalist guides leading walks to observe birds and their habitat, birds of prey demonstrations, and outdoor activities for bird lovers of all ages.
Ottawa area residents will learn more about birds, their migration challenges, and how to protect them. They will also get a rare chance to see hawks, owls and falcons in flight as part of a Birds of Prey demonstration. Similar events are taking place across the country and throughout the Americas, to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day.
The Ottawa Migratory Bird Day event will take place rain or shine at LeBreton Flats Park from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For the full event information go to http://www.naturecanada.ca/initiatives/bird-day/ or http://www.ottawachildrensfestival.ca
