Green Screen presents: Earth Day Climate Change Films

As part of Carlingwood’s “Green Week”, Green Screen will be showing a series of Earth Day themed films all day in a storefront in the mall. You are welcome to come for the start of the feature film or drop in any time to watch some of the short films playing in between or participate in the photobooth, raffle and prizes! Come say hello and stay as long as you like!

 

SCHEDULE

10:30 – 11:15 am: Bill Nye’s Global Meltdown (45 minutes)

11:15 – 1:00 pm: Series of short films (~5 minutes each)

1:00 – 1:45 pm: Bill Nye’s Global Meltdown (45 minutes)

1:45 – 3:00 pm: Series of short films (~5 minutes each)

3:00 – 3:45 pm: Bill Nye’s Global Meltdown (45 minutes)

 

Family friendly – kids are welcome! Drop in with your family while getting some shopping done! (no childcare provided)

 

This is a FREE event – donations will be accepted to support Green Screen and cover our costs.

“After talking to his therapist, ‘Dr.’ Arnold Schwarzenegger, scientist Bill Nye realizes he is suffering from grief: climate change grief. Thus begins an unusual look at climate change, as Nye examines Earth’s warming through the prism of the classic five stages of grief. Ultimately Nye seeks solutions in science, heading to Silicon Valley to explore how technology companies are trying to map out a clean energy future that can save the planet.”

GREEN SCREEN

Green Screen is a city-wide grassroots initiative organized by local Ottawa residents, with support from Ecology Ottawa, to engage our communities on climate change action. Through a series of film screenings in wards throughout the city, Green Screen strives to inspire local action on global issues, and show that by working on climate change in our own backyard we can have an impact on one of the world’s most pressing issues.
