It’s a time warp back to the 19th century! In Beethoven’s era, folks used to gather ‘round at home, where the flicker of a candle and a musical instrument was all that was need for an evening of merrymaking. Friends and family would play music, laugh and drink into the wee hours.
Our post concert musical salons take you back to Beethoven’s time. Each of the four salons brings you different music and a different feel, led by piano virtuoso Frédéric Lacroix.
September 13: Beethoven, Dance and the Hero
September 19: Beethoven 1800, with chamber music and anecdotes.
September 20: Beethoven in Pop culture. It features pieces of modern piano including pop and jazz, that all reference Beethoven.
September 22: The Immortal Beloved and features a reading of the lovelorn Beethoven’s letters to the mysterious, unknown object of his affection.
