With plenty of fun activities and slightly more reasonable temperatures, here are some of our picks for the weekend!
The dog days of summer have arrived and, with temperatures above 30 degrees in the forecast all weekend, we can brace ourselves for another hot one in the capital. In addition to a guaranteed heatwave of a weekend, it is also guaranteed to be a fun one, with a long list of great goings on to get out there and enjoy.
After the hullabaloo and heatstroke of the long weekend has passed, we are faced with another beautiful weekend in our city, and no limit of ways to fill it. Bluesfest starts with a bang on Thursday night and rolls right on through the weekend. If Lebreton Flats is not your destination of choice, mix it up a little bit with a poutine in Gatineau, a soccer game, some classical music or a Shakespeare play for a little culture.
It’s going to be a scorcher this weekend and there’s plenty going on to celebrate Canada Day all weekend long. No matter where you end up or what you do, have a great long weekend!
The solstice is upon us! Summer has officially arrived in this beautiful city and festival season is just in time to celebrate the change of seasons.

Down in Ottawa, we like to refer to this time of the year as six-one-three season, or “61threeson.” You know what I’m talking about: it’s the time of year just after the tulips close, and summer hasn’t quite happened, but it’s warm and the city has awoken to a deluge of events, events, events.
Watch out Ottawa, it’s time for Canada’s biggest marathon weekend. Whether this means you’re running, cheering or navigating road closures, the city comes alive with runners from around the world. Enjoy the atmosphere, not to mention everything else happening this jam-packed weekend!
It is time to rejoice, we’ve a long weekend ahead! A whole extra day to get out and enjoy what this fine city has to offer! This weekend there is a ton of stuff going on, so we might as well get to it.
Believe it or not, we’ve made it. Spring has sprung in Ottawa, and one thing is certain: there will be tulips.

With May just around the corner, the weather has warmed from the snow and ice of a few short weeks ago and we can finally pack away our winter jackets. Going outside has become a whole lot more hospitable – and just in time, as there is plenty to get out and do this weekend in Ottawa!
Anyone got a time machine? You’ll need it to fit in all the great events this weekend, featuring a jammed packed Saturday!
The only thing spookier than Friday the 13th is snow in the forecast for mid-April, both of which are things we have to look forward to this weekend. Have no fear, though, because your guide to the weekend is full of hot coffee, cold beer and cool shows.
